BO'NESS PADDOCK MOVES - INTO THE 21st CENTURY

Following on from the heavy rain which resulted in the paddock being abandoned at the first Revival event, the BHCR committee decided that the situation would have to be improved.

Gavin Ross designed a new paddock layout which would make access and egress much easier and also provide roadways for competitors to easily drive through the paddock to their allotted space. The roadways also lead through the paddock to the new start line area.

Work started on Sunday 19th July with Gavin and Kenny Baird measuring and laying out the line of the new roads. The contractors started work the following day with the assistance of committee members Alex, Bill, Alisdaire, Gavin and Kenny who did most of the labouring to help keep costs down. Work finished on Wednesday 22nd July and during three non-stop days we managed to lay down almost 200 metres of roadway, installed 100 metres of fencing, fitted two new large gates into the paddock, installed over 200 metres of field drainage pipes plus a collection sump, rolled all of the paddock flat plus we did lots of general tidying and reseeding of grass areas disturbed.

The work has transformed what was a grassy, boggy field into a modern well equipped paddock area suitable to grace any hill climb venue. The completed work should last for many years to come.

The work was entirely paid for by BHCR and is a credit to all those involved.
