Tony Marsh leaves the line in a cloud of tyre smoke
The Dr. M R CHASSELS TROPHY

Dr Mirrlees Chassels sadly passed away on November 2nd. Mirrlees honoured us by re-opening the hill last August. Mirrlees and his wife Mabel, competed with some success at Bo'ness in the post-war years in his Frazer-Nash based Special. Mirrlees' racing career ended after a bad crash at Snake Bend in 1952 but he continued to attend meetings in the role of Course Doctor. His sons Stuart and James have very kindly donated a solid silver trophy in their Dad's honour. It is a cup which Mirrlees won in 1937 and it will be awarded to the fastest pre-1953 car at Bo'ness. This is the BHCR's first perpetual trophy and our sincere thanks go to Stuart and James for this wonderful gesture.
