New Committee Member
We are pleased to announce that Barry Crichton has joined the BHCR committee. Barry is well known in the classic car fraternity.
Barry's motor sport career started off with a Frogeye Sprite in the early 1960's which he rebuilt, followed by a 970 Mini Cooper S. He used those cars for driving tests and hill climbs including The Rest and Be Thankful and Doune. The Cooper S was also rallied and Barry did a deal with Andy Barton (we all remember Andy from the Ingliston days) and swapped his 970 engine for Andy's 1293 unit complete with straight cut box, since Andy wanted to compete in the up to 1000cc racing class.
After the Mini Barry continued to spectate and marshal at numerous events. He has been Club Steward at Forestburn since the inaugural meeting back in 1993 and this experience will be of great benefit to BHCR. Barry was our club steward at the 2008 and 2009 Revival meetings and will continue in this role in 2010.
