FEEDBACK 2009
This is only a selection of the feedback we have received for the 2009 Revival Meeting. Our sincere thanks to everybody who E-mailed us. The Feedback from 2008 helped us to improve the event for this year. All those people can't be wrong!
Please convey to the committee my appreciation (& the appreciation of the MGCC) for the efforts you all put in to this weekend.
I loved the weekend, the hill, the planes, the competition, the banter; despite my car being crashed!
More power to your elbow! And thanks again!

We met briefly yesterday when my wife and I interrupted you and the two ladies packing up after a long weekend of superb motor sport here in Bo'ness. No doubt that was the tip of an iceberg of many hours and days of work and planning. Speaking from the paying public's side of the track may we congratulate all concerned for another well organised, slick and enjoyable event? Last year was very enjoyable and the many enhancements this year built on that excellent foundation.
Last year we bought a chunk of your track each by way of a donation but this time we've gone a bit further and joined up for action.
We live in Bo'ness and look forward to being of some assistance if required. I can still wield a pick and shovel and we're not above litter picking either.
Many thanks to all involved.
Kathleen & Archie McKellar - Bo'ness

Just a short note to congratulate you all on an excellent weekend's motorsport.
The Events were a tremendous success due to the work of the committee. Reinhard Hipel our guest from Hamburg, was very grateful for the very warm welcome he received and Aileen and I had a great time sitting in the Bo'ness sun rather than mud and enjoying good company, cars, trains and planes. Do I feel a song coming on here? The extended track is a real challenge and makes the Hill a must do event!
Once again a great effort and one of which you should be very proud.
Looking forward to next year!

All of our members who displayed cars at this years Bo'ness hill climb would like to say a big thank you to the organisers. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time and are looking forwards to next years event.
The event was very well organised and professional, well done to all involved.

Just a few words to thank you, and everybody else, for such a splendid weekend.
Mum has especially asked me to thank you all for making this a special day for her and I am sure it brought back memories of how she beat the hill in the 4 ½
Litre Bentley!!
Stuart and I were also delighted that the Chassels Trophy went to such a worthy winner - The Spyder II is some machine.
James Chassels - Stewarton

What an excellent event! It has taken over from Leuchars airshow in my calendar for next year. I was particularly impressed by commentator Chris Drewett at Paddock bend whose knowledge was extraordinary and my only regret was not being at the right place at the right time to get down to the paddock.
Chris Ellen - Gartocharn

Thank you all to the team for a great weekend , The manta members who came all got back in touch with me and said it was great, and I loved the hill, where else can you go sideways legally? Great to race without 4 wheel drive beasts about, hope to do next year as well, thanks to all the team.
Jock Ramsay - The Manta Owners Club

Many thanks for all your efforts which made for a wonderful weekend among friends old and new. The extended course is a delight to drive and I look forward to an elongated top end. Well done!
Onwards and upwards,

I was working in Bo'ness last week and noticed a flyer for the hill climb. I decided to check it out on the internet and so on Saturday morning at 9am sharp my daughter and I went along to Kinneil house. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we decided to do it again on the Sunday, this time taking the rest of the family along with us. £15 for a weekend's entertainment! That's good value for money. Whilst we were there on Sunday I heard an announcement go out over the tannoy regarding anyone who was interested in marshalling at such events. I would like to find out some more about marshalling, but I do not know who I should be talking too. If it is not yourself who deals with such requests, could you point me in the right direction please. I look forward to hearing from you or one of your fellow officials in due course, and thanks again for a brilliant weekend.
Andrew Mould - Falkirk

Thank you very much for inviting me to Bo'ness Hill Climb last weekend. I had a great time on both days and thought the event went very well indeed.
Congratulations to everyone who made it possible. It ran very smoothly and was helped by the sunny weather on both days.
I did enjoy the flyover on Saturday and it added to what was already an exciting event.
Madelene Hunt - Convener, Bo'ness Community Council

Now the dust has settled and with time for reflection I would like to congratulate the BHRC committee for a superb event last weekend. The extended track with the challenging hairpin was great and I was impressed with the paddock improvements. A fantastic job and a credit to all involved.
Jim Grant - Club Lotus

Very many thanks to you and the team for a fabulous weekend... we are very privileged to be slightly involved.
I cannot over-do our congratulations on the organisation, the spectacle, and of course, the fly-past.
Brilliant!!!

Thanks to all involved for a great weekend. I really enjoyed the track, tricky to get right but fantastic fun through Old Paddock Bend and the Courtyard.
Graham Cowie - Lochwinnock

Thanks for a fantastic event, it was brilliant. Everyone really enjoyed it and we all appreciated the effort that had been put in not only in the week leading up to the event but the work on the paddock, meetings with the council etc that you all put in over the past year.
Please convey our thanks to everyone including the marshals sitting out on the main road directing us etc. and doing essential jobs but whose efforts go unrecognised by the vast majority.
We are all planning now to come back next year and if you confirm the dates if you know them we will book the accommodation immediately.
I will write to thank Falkirk Council etc as we enjoyed the folk festival singers in the pub and the steam railway and we all stayed at least two nights in the locality spending our money because of their involvement with Bo'ness Hill Climb.
Once again a big thanks to you all from all our party.
Keith Thomas - Branthwaite, Cumbria

And in an extract from Keith's letter to Falkirk Council
I would like to thank the residents and businesses of Bo'ness for their hospitality and the officers and councillors of Falkirk Council and the organising team of the Bo'ness Revival Hill Climb for putting on such a brilliant motorsport event at the historic Kinneil House last weekend.
We came expecting two days of good motorsport but were treated to not only great folk music in the pub, a Battle of Britain fly past and the pleasure of the steam trains running past but an event that was not only good it was fantastic and will be difficult to surpass. .
Myself and my wife and two friends in my car live near Workington but our other friends travelled from places as far apart as Bath, Dundee, Bridgenorth, Cheltenham, Cockermouth and Malton. We stayed for two, three or even four nights in local accommodation and ate at various establishments so we were glad to give something back to the local economy.
The spectators enjoyed chatting to us drivers asking about the cars and we hope we waved as enthusiastically to the children as the children did to us.
It is great to see a switched on council getting involved in a sustainable event that will bring many more people to this lovely area so thank you to everyone and we look forward to coming back next year and for many years to come.
Keith Thomas - Branthwaite, Cumbria

Thank you again for your kind invitation for the family to attend as your guest. Mum really enjoyed her day out watching the cars and the fly past, which was a real bonus, so hope you can repeat that next year.
James and I also attended on the Sunday as you know and saw Spider 2 win Dad's trophy, so that was memorable too.
Stuart Chassels - Linlithgow
************
Fantastic day from start to finish - I'd would have been back to do it all again on Sunday if work had not beckoned! Absolute bargain at £5 and the best venue bar none.
Competitors were very friendly and approachable and took time to chat about their cars/day. My son is also very enthused after chatting to the owner of the GN Spider II at some length and this sums up the atmosphere you have managed to create.
I was very much inspired by what I saw and its been too long (family/mortgage!) since I last competed so will need to dust off either my old TVR, or more likely I suspect, my MG Midget, blow the cobwebs away and see what it can do in 2010....
Well done to all of you and I can't wait for next year.
Richard Morris - Kinghorn

What a fantastic weekend! A hill climb, a classic car show, a flypast by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, free parking and all for £5! How do you guys do it? We cannot wait for next year. Our warmest congratulations.

On behalf of Club Lotus and our members who exhibited their cars last weekend may I congratulate you and your committee for a brilliant weekend?
It is the first time we have been present at the event and hope in some way we contributed to the success.
We hope that the event will continue to grow and if we can help in any way please do not hesitate to contact us through Joe or myself direct.
I have spoken to a few locals who know me and the feedback from them was extremely positive in all aspects of the event.
Keep up the good work
George Kellie - Club Lotus

We had a first class "day oot" last week, wonderful! Congratulations to all for the hard work that made Bo'ness a great success, I'm already looking forward to next year.

The planning/organisation and the implementation of the event have been done to the very highest standard and show a high level of commitment and professionalism from all members of your committee. You are all to be congratulated. We really appreciate what you are doing.
Thanks for a fantastic weekend. It was even better than I told my family and friends it would be. You and the committee have done a great job and everyone I have spoken to says it was great.
Dianne and George Dougal - Residents, Duchess Anne Cottages - Kinneil Estate

What a great day we had at Bo'ness - it really is just going to go from strength to strength - I keep meeting people who say - "definitely want to come next year having heard so much about it. I really think you are on the map!

Many thanks for a great weekend. I've just written a short piece on it for the Prescott Marshals' Club so you may receive even more interest from south of the border next year.
Thanks again to all of the team for all their hard work.

I really enjoyed the weekend and I am looking forward to next year. I spoke to some of the spectators over the two days and the feedback from them is that they would definitely be back next year. The entire team involved in the organisation of the meeting should be congratulated on putting on a great display, well done.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday at the event.
Obviously the weather helped, but what really made it so memorable was the approachability of the owners and drivers.
Between us we spoke to a number of them and they were all prepared to talk freely about their vehicles and their participation in hill climbs, and in this event in particular. This added significantly to our enjoyment as we were able to fill in some of the esoteric gaps that we couldn't expect to be filled by the commentators. Incidentally I thought the commentators did a wonderful job, especially when cars had to be recovered from incidents on the track.
Please pass on our thanks to all concerned, especially to the owners and drivers.
Nick & Mo Hill - Dunstable

Just wanted to thank yourself and all the committee for all the hard work that went in to a great weekend. A fantastic event although I still cannot work out how you pulled it off with the weather, you must have connections in some very high places!!!!! Thanks again, we all had a great weekend and Sophie really loves taking part, it was so kind of you to ask her to help.
Shonah Gibbon - Bearsden

A very enjoyable and well organised day out. Looking forward to next year. Hopefully my father should have his car running (1959 Fairthorpe Ashley) but I am not holding my breath! Thanks again.
